Untangle Home
My Signature One-Year Recovery & Transformation Program
You Did the Hard Work. Now What?
You’ve done the hard work — whether emerging from rehab, trauma, or a major life transition. Now begins the real work: translating survival into lasting stability, clarity, and purpose. That first year “back” — at home, at work, in relationships — can feel disorienting and overwhelming.
The Untangle Home Program was built for this moment: the moment when everything gets real. Drawing on 25 years of experience and my own recovery journey, it is a structured, high-touch, personalized framework to help you stabilize, grow, and thrive — one phase at a time.
This program helps you find light inside the chaos, rediscover your rhythm, and rebuild a life that feels honest, grounded, and fully alive.
Space is limited. Time is valuable.
Testimonial
"I needed more than another rehab — I needed a roadmap to live differently — and my family needed one too! Angela’s program gave me practical tools for self-care, emotional regulation, and rebuilding my life. With her guidance, I rebuilt confidence, earned my advanced degree in clinical psychology, and now help others in recovery. Her family coaching addressed systemic challenges, creating a structure where we all could grow and thrive together."
— VQ, Therapist in Recovery
Family members are often left behind in recovery. The Untangle Home Program strengthens communication, addresses systemic patterns, and equips every family member with tools to flourish.

“After my 8th rehab, I felt completely lost and hopeless. Angela didn’t just help me survive — she showed me how to live again. With her guidance, I finally embraced treatment, healed from trauma, and built a sober, thriving life. She led me home — home to myself.”
— Michael G, Writer
"My first 90 days out of rehab were the most daunting — and potentially the most dangerous — of my sober journey. I felt like an egg without a shell. Angela brought me into community, taught me the practical skills I needed, and gave me a foundation for sobriety, my career, and my life. Nearly five years later, my life keeps getting better every day."

How It Works:
The Four Phases of Real-Life Recovery
Untangle Home is more than a recovery program — it’s a structured journey toward lasting transformation, moving from stability to creation, integration, and thriving.
Phase 1: Foundations (Months 1–3) — Home Sobriety & Nervous System Regulation
Build healthy rhythms: time, sleep, food, self-care
Reorganize home spaces to create stability and flow
Regulate your nervous system to expand tolerance for discomfort and joy
Daily coaching ensures steady anchoring and accountability
Goal: Orientation and stability. Recovery begins with structure — simple, steady practices that hold the mess without losing yourself.
Phase 2: Skill-Building (Months 4–6) — Boundaries, Identity & Belonging
Release outdated patterns and beliefs
Meet essential needs (certainty, variety, love, significance) without self-sabotage
Expand emotional intelligence and decision-making
Align actions with evolving identity
Goal: Move from survival into creation — building purpose, confidence, and a life fully your own.
Phase 3: Integration (Months 7–9) — Resilience, Expression & Real-World Recovery
Navigate triggers, social dynamics, and responsibilities
Recalibrate the nervous system between hyper- and hypo-arousal
Repair relationships, practice authentic self-expression
Expand emotional resilience and capacity for joy
Goal: Shift work outward — toward connection, creativity, and full engagement with life.
Phase 4: Thriving (Months 9–12) — Purpose, Leadership & Ongoing Growth
Embody recovery with clarity, authenticity, and grounded confidence
Redefine “more” into growth — love, creativity, connection
Untangle money, sex, and love shame to align with higher values
Lead yourself and others, design a sustainable life plan
Goal: Purpose and self-leadership — thriving isn’t perfection; it’s presence, aligned action, and living fully.
What Is Untangling?
The Untangle Method™ is a 3-Step Parts Framework blending neurobiology, trauma research, and creative, embodied strategies for life transformation. It’s woven throughout the HOME Program and practiced across home spaces, calendars, closets, and the inner rooms of your emotional life.
Small Untangles, Big Change
Mary K. untangled love from addiction, leaving an abusive marriage and reclaiming her life
Nancy G., Therapist untangled a limiting “money martyr” belief, tripling her income
Barbara T. untangled a kitchen shelf, unlocking creative potential and publishing two books
Samara T. stopped fighting herself, left a destructive relationship, and stepped fully into purpose
Melissa S. used the three-step method to break down overwhelm and discover intention in daily life
Danielle T. untangled public speaking fears, now speaking confidently to thousands
Hannah B. untangled a cluttered mudroom, revealing deeper beliefs and stepping into thriving
Each untangle begins as something simple — and becomes something profound: a reclamation of self. Through these small, courageous acts of clarity, clients discover that freedom was never far away; it was simply tangled.
Why This Works (And Why I Built It)
I’m Angela McKinney, and I’ve spent 25 years helping people — including myself — untangle from addiction, trauma, and chaos to build lives that feel honest, meaningful, and whole. Neuroscientist Marc Lewis described the Untangle Method™ as “a creative new direction in recovery,” affirming the vision behind this work.
Most programs stop at insight; the Untangle Method™ turns awareness into action and sustainable change. I created the HOME Program to offer the structure, tools, and compassionate guidance I wish I’d had after getting sober 30 years ago.
